RACE 5 – Benchmark 62 (1100m)

Loves A Riddle was an impressive debut winner in a mid-week Eagle Farm maiden and with any improvement, can go on with it. Win Burn is the big danger if he chooses not to contest race 8 after running his rivals off their legs at his last-start maiden victory. Dawn Issue is a genuine threat after winning his maiden so easily and is another that has accepted in race 8 but may not gain a start. Blue Kentucky Moon and Phoenix River have both been running well and could sneak a minor prize.

SELECTIONS: 8 Loves A Riddle, 6 Win Burn, 7 Dawn Issue, 1 Blue Kentucky Moon, 2 Phoenix River

RACE 6 – Class 5 Handicap (1350m)

Awesome Lad goes on top first-up from a spell after running third at Rosehill to kick off last campaign. Harlequin Field bolted-in over 1200m here last start and the step-up in distance looks ideal. Battle Through was terrific first-up at Ipswich after copping a wide trip and should be right in contention if he opts to run here instead of race 8. Brook Hill loves this track and distance and should not be dismissed. Chevy Nova made up ground at Ipswich last start and could show up if he can jump on terms. SELECTIONS: 3 Awesome Lad, 4 Harlequin Field, 6 Battle Through, 10 Brook Hill, 7 Chevy Nova

RACE 7 – Benchmark 62 F&M (1200m)

Philly Special finished second over this distance last start despite a slow getaway and looks a moral to go one better this time. Not Another will find this easier than her last few metropolitan starts and appears to be the main danger. Forget Romance ran second on the heavy track here last week and should run well again, third-up from a spell. Kingstar Amber was doing her best work late over 1000m last start, takes a 3kg claim again, and is sure to be hitting the line hard.

SELECTIONS: 3 Philly Special, 8 Not Another, 6 Forget Romance, 2 Kingstar Amber

RACE 8 – Benchmark 62 CG&E (1200m)

Win Burn is the clear top selection after winning his maiden convincingly over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast despite having to work early to find the lead. Dawn Issue is the main danger back from a break after braining them on debut before running second on the poly track. Debussy failed to settle early last start when resuming but should be better for the run and gets another chance. Wuddacucddashudda is likely to race on the pace and could be in it for a long way back on firmer ground.

SELECTIONS: 4 Win Burn, 12 Dawn Issue, 2 Debussy, 9 Wuddacucddashudda
