MODEST ASPIRATION

-

It’s hard to believe but the Commodore’s entry-level petrol engine is the same one that powers the flagship sporting model in Europe. The Insignia GSI gets the 191kw 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit as seen in our Commodore, but mated to an all-wheel drive chassis. There’s still no confirmation as to if and when a hotter Opel Insignia OPC will materialise, but there’s little chance it’d have more than four pots under the bonnet. The possibility of Holden swallowing its pride and importing it to replace the V6 VXR would, in all probability, be even slimmer.
