Like Audi, exxy options lift X2’s ambience, but overall design is a happy amalgam of contemporary BMW interiors. Compared with related X1, occupants sit 20mm lower on redesigned front seats with extra bolstering, facing so-called ‘black panel’ instrumentation. Rear seatback recline is a boon, but roofmounted centre-rear belt and ceiling light not ideal for hapless adults stuck in the middle. You get run-flat tyres so miss out on a spare. Boot volume varies from 470-1355 litres. Ground clearance is 182mm.
