YETI EXTINCT
With the arrival of the Karoq mid-sized SUV, Skoda has officially put the charismatic but relatively unpopular Yeti out to pasture. The replacement sports a 110kw/250nm 1.5litre turbo-petrol four with either six-speed manual (yay!) or seven-speed dual-clutch ’boxes, a roomy cabin and a sub-$30k starting price. Like its predecessor, the Karoq is a bit of an in-betweener, size-wise, though it shouldn’t have any problems improving on the Yeti’s sales performance, which found fewer than 400 buyers in its final full year on sale.
