Raved Posen on Instagram, “Just wow!” Wow was right. At the bash, the unofficial kickoff to New York Fashion Week, lead honorees Scarlett Johansson and Donatella Versace floated amid celebrity friends including Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell, who snapped epic selfies. Johansson addressed the crowd about HIV/AIDS

Versace also chipped in to the tune of $40,000 for a photo of amfar Founding International Chairman Elizabeth Taylor on a motorcycle.

During the night—the highestselling auction item at $85,000 was a vending machine holding 363 bottles of Moët & Chandon champagne—johansson dished candidly to Entertainment Tonight on mothering daughter Rose, 2: “I’m barely, barely holding it together.”

The gala was Johansson’s first red-carpet turn since news broke on Feb. 1 she and her husband, Romain Dauriac, have called it quits after marrying in 2014. Finding her feet as a single mum, “If you’re at work, you feel like you’re missing out on those special moments with your kid,” said the Ghost in the Shell actress. “If you’re with your kid, you feel like you’re not giving enough to your job. It’s a balance.”

Still, added Johansson, while spotlit working motherhood is an incredible challenge, it’s also “an incredible gift.”
