The Bachelor
Walk-out Jen tells WHO, ‘I love being the villain’
AFTER MATTHEW “MATTY J” JOHNSON dismissed drama-stirring architectural-design student Leah Costa from Season 5 of The Bachelor for being “a distraction,” Leah’s pal (and self-proclaimed series villain) Jen Hawke left without a goodbye after dropping a bomb on the rest of the girls—and Matty—that she overheard model Lisa Carlton say Matty was only on TV for the airtime and she considered him to be more like a brother. “That house, it’s just full of bitches,” Jen huffed. “They are 100 per cent fake.” Now the remaining women are getting real about the former bachelorettes. Lisa, who insists she is sincere in her pursuit of Matty, tells WHO, “They definitely turned it on for the camera, but now that Jen and Leah have gone, there’s a lot less drama and we can really focus on getting to know Matty.” Fitness trainer Elora Murger, who Jen called “scum of the earth” for getting a second date, says while she was “surprised by the intensity of the animosity” she suffered, “I guess we were all worried about what
they would say behind closed doors in those interviews. But everything I thought about them was confirmed on TV.” For her part, Jen tells WHO that when she said there were women who didn’t deserve to be on the show, “I was definitely talking about Lisa, obviously. Saying what she said about Matty being there for fame and to keep himself in the spotlight and only picking a girl because she’ll fit into his lifestyle, I think if that’s what you think of somebody, I don’t think you should be there.” ■
