Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander
Married in ‘The Light Between Oceans,’ the co-stars tie the knot in real life
FOR THREE YEARS, ACTORS ALICIA Vikander and Michael Fassbender, who met in 2014 on the New Zealand set of The Light Between Oceans, have done their best to keep the details of their relationship under wraps, even politely declining to pash for the Kiss Cam at the 2016 British Academy of Film and Television Awards. But on Oct. 15, the low-key couple shared kisses, smiles, and flashes of new bling on their ring fingers after their weekend wedding in Ibiza, sources confirmed to WHO.
Arriving on the Spanish island with friends and family from Paris earlier in the week, Oscar winner Vikander, 29, and two-time nominee Fassbender, 40, spent a day frolicking on the beach on Oct. 13, capped off by a sunset party on a sailboat, a witness told E! News.
Then the group headed 15km inland to La Granja, a secluded resort on 10 hectares
of farmland, where the pair exchanged vows on Oct. 14 in front of an intimate group of loved ones, according to WHO’S sources.
Although Vikander insisted to Porter magazine last year that she and Fassbender have “never hidden the fact we’re a couple,” she did tell WHO that insights into their love life were off limits. “It was very easy to unite,” she says of their chemistry during the making of The Light
Between Oceans, “but that’s quite personal.” ■
