THE KIDS OF ‘STRANGER THINGS’ ON HOW THEIR LIVES HAVE CHANGED

-

What was it like returning to set after Season 1 became such a phenomenon? Matarazzo It was like a family reunion, but there was a lot of stress because of how high the stakes are. Schnapp There was a lot of pressure to keep things secret. Everyone was always worried there was a mole on set! How do you stay grounded? Wolfhard I don’t think it’ll ever be normal. I like being creative, but I’m also in regular school. I try and get as much balance as possible. Schnapp I also go to regular school and to the same summer camp I’ve been going to since I was 7. It’s like I have two lives. It’s fun! What can we expect from Season 2? Wolfhard It’s set a year later, in 1984, but everyone is still dealing with what happened [at the end of Season 1]. No-one can really go back to the way they used to be. Millie Bobby Brown [who plays Eleven] The first season was a homage to the 1980s, but this one is darker and more emotional. And the last two episodes are like an epic blockbuster action movie.

Noah, your character, Will, spent much of Season 1 away from his friends. What was it like being with them this time? Schnapp

It was amazing. The first year I didn’t get to experience the whole process. But this time I was filming every day and got really close with everyone. Mclaughlin This season was fun because we got to hang out with Noah. And we went to Six Flags [fun park] together outside of filming. Millie, your character has hair! Brown This season she’s more vulnerable and scared, so she has a different look ... She’s trying to be a normal teenager. That’s something I’m also going through right now.
