Luke Evans cer­tainly can’t be type­cast. The Welsh stage ac­tor, 38, has been a mus­ke­teer, an ac­tion star and, most re­cently, Dis­ney vil­lain Gas­ton in Beauty and the Beast. But his new role as the cre­ator of the Won­der Woman comic in Pro­fes­sor Marston and the Won­der Women might be his wildest yet. “No-one will be­lieve the story,” Evans says of the tale of Wil­liam Moul­ton Marston, who, as a pro­fes­sor of psy­chol­ogy, helped in­vent the liede­tec­tor test, was in a polyamorous re­la­tion­ship with his wife and a stu­dent and then in­vented Won­der Woman. “I feel like it’s a story that’s worth telling,” he says. “Won­der Woman re­flected the two women in his life. He be­lieved women were the more in­flu­en­tial and pow­er­ful sex.” (Out now)
