SOPHIE MONK POSTED A LOVED-UP holiday snap on Dec. 23 with beau Stu Laundy in which she kissed him while on the slopes of the Silverstar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada, telling fans, “Hope you’ve been good so Santa gives you what you want.”
The wish, alas, may not have worked. After weeks of social-media silence from Monk, 38, and Laundy, 45, the former Bachelorette instagrammed the end of her relationship on Jan. 25, writing, “I gave it the best shot I could and my intentions were everything I said I was looking for, but unfortunately it just didn’t work out.” Monk’s agent, Titus Day, assures WHO that reports of contracts obligating the pair to stay together were false, as were assertions that Monk partied too much for Laundy’s tastes. “They broke up amicably before the post and my understanding is they are still on good terms,” Day says. Fitzy and Wippa show to say it was Monk who ended things and “apart from being so publicly brushed off, I have no hard feelings.” KIIS-FM hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson then patched both of them through for a final chat. Addressing Monk, Laundy said, “I have a feeling we will always be the best of mates. At the end of the day, you make me laugh more than any girl ever. So there’s no way in the world I’d want to lose that.” Replied Monk, “Oh, same,” then conceded, “They create drama sometimes in media and you believe it, too. You start arguing over it.” Laundy agreed, then sighed about tabloid life, “It’s Soph’s world, not mine.”
