Tessa James, Nate Myles and baby
The actress and her husband introduce their new addition
TWO DAYS AFTER SHE first shared a baby-related photo on Instagram, Tessa James stepped out for breakfast with her husband, Nate Myles, and their new addition in Melbourne on Feb. 10. The actress, an ambassador for luxury brand Longines, had most likely worked up an appetite after participating in the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton relay. Motherhood “is incredible,” she told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph after the event. “I’m just so happy. It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done and it’s extremely rewarding.”
While the new mum declined to reveal the baby’s name or gender, a source reveals to WHO that James, 26, and NRL player Myles, 32, welcomed a girl. The former Home and Away star’s spokesman confirmed her pregnancy last August, a happy postscript to her 2014 diagnosis of non-hodgkin lymphona. Throughout their ordeal, the couple kept alive their dream of starting a family, as James said in 2016: “There are high stats of people my age having had treatment who have children, so I hope that is in the future for us.”
With that dream fulfilled, James is concentrating on her health and looking forward to returning to work. “There are so many wonderful opportunities with powerful women’s roles,” she told Fairfax Media. But it’s family first. “I feel really proud of Nate and I,” she told The Daily Telegraph, reflecting on parenthood. “It’s empowering.”
