Blindsided Ryan and Tracey hit back at their cheating TV spouses

-

ALTHOUGH VIEWERS HAVE watched in fascinated horror as Dean Wells and Davina Rankin expressed their attraction and secretly devised plans to act on their feelings, their Married at First Sight spouses have been left in the dark—until now. Ryan Gallagher and Tracey Jewel tell WHO they were both totally blindsided by the emotional affair playing out behind closed doors between Wells, 39, and Rankin, 26, during filming. “I felt stupid,” says Ryan, 29, who— along with viewers—watched his onscreen wife express her dissatisfaction with their marriage and openly embrace and make commitments to another man. “I thought we’d had a good week … It wasn’t nice seeing all the negative things she was saying about me. I didn’t know anyone could hate someone so much, just for being themselves.” Equally blindsided, Tracey, 34, says not only did Dean convince her their marriage would last, but they made love on the same night he told Instagram model Davina he’d leave his TV wife for her. “I had no idea about Davina, none, zero,” says the mother-ofone. “I was absolutely shocked and humiliated, I couldn’t believe someone could do that to me. For me, cheating isn’t about just sleeping with someone else, it’s about doing anything your partner wouldn’t like—sending inappropriate text messages back and forth is cheating to me. If you have to hide anything, that’s cheating.”

Compounding the issue, “Davina made a beeline to get to know me,” she recalls. “Looking back on it now I think, ‘ Was I an idiot? Or just delusional that I didn’t see the signs?’ ... Davina needs to take a really good look in the mirror. Just because you’re young and attractive it doesn’t give you the right to act like that and be so disrespectful to your husband. I think it says a lot about her lack of morals and values.”

With Ryan also aghast at Dean breaking the bro code, there seems little hope left for either couple, who must choose to stay or leave the show in scenes going to air on Feb. 18. “I’m a once-burntI’m-gone type of person,” says Ryan. “Once the trust is gone it is very hard to come back. And it was an arsehole of a thing to do.”
