NICO TORTORELLA & BETHANY MEYERS Living in a polyamorous relationship for 11 years, the Younger actor ties the knot

-

Eleven years into their polyamorous relationship, Younger actor Nico Tortorella, who identifies as bisexual and his lesbian girlfriend, Bethany Meyers, have tied the knot. “Just married. For real,” instagrammed Tortorella (see p. 38) alongside a photo of the couple in their “gender-bending” wedding ensembles. In an article written for LGBTQ publication Them, lifestyle entrepreneur Meyers said the ceremony on March 9 was “the day I dreamed of yet not the day I imagined, and I couldn’t be happier.”

Referring to their “neo- Grecian drape” wedding outfits—a dress with trousers for Meyers and a tux complete with a gown for Tortorella—the 29-year-old actor added “the looks are everything we’ve ever dreamed of … in this relationship, we both wear the pants and the dress.” Despite his non-traditional lifestyle, Tortorella revealed marriage was always on his agenda. “I’ve always planned on being a husband—my own version of one,” he told Them. As for Meyers, 31, she said Tortorella was the only one for her. “I realised, if I was ever to marry, the person to fill that role was Nico,” she said. “There wouldn’t be another soul I could share my life with.”

Keeping the wedding simple (“No guests. No flowers. No rings.”) and under the radar fell short of other people’s expectations (“the disappointment was palpable”), according to Meyers, but not hers or Tortorella’s. “When I imagined marrying Nico, we were the only two in the vision,” she said. “No pomp or circumstance, processional or cake cutting, nothing borrowed, definitely nothing blue ... this was our moment, for us.” •
