Harry and Meghan

With their wedding just weeks away, Meghan and Harry lock in a trip Down Under

Hand-in-hand, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle debuted their love at September’s Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada, and now the couple are set to revisit Harry’s passion project, booking in their first international tour as a married couple when he opens the Games in Sydney in October. And the bride-to-be is thrilled. Meeting with wounded veterans competing for a place in the UK Invictus team on April 5, Meghan, 36, chatted with amputee Michael Mellon. “She told me that she had never been to Australia, but was going to this year’s event and was really looking forward to being there with Harry,” Mellon said. “We talked a lot about Canada last year and how hot it had been for that time of year and how impressed she was at the level of competition.”

Choosing Toronto to go public with their romance was an easy pick for the couple—the city had been Meghan’s adopted home while she filmed her legal drama Suits. But much has happened in the seven months since they delighted Invictus competitors and spectators with their open affection. With the wedding just weeks away—invitations are out, flowers selected, lemon-elderflower-flavoured cake ordered!—meghan has turned her back on Hollywood to focus on her new royal role, including supporting Harry, 33, with his charities and forging her own humanitarian path. “Meghan is going to be a force,” says a palace source. “She will help him really define his role and relate to the public in a way that he wouldn’t have been able to do before. It was worth the wait.”
