Arrested for drink driving

THE ACTOR WAS ARRESTED AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A DUI CHECKPOINT SOUTH OF LOS ANGELES

NURSING A GREEN JUICE—AND POSSIBLY A sore head—vince Vaughn stepped out in Los Angeles a day after he was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting arrest. The Wedding Crashers actor was pulled over by police between Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach south of Los Angeles in the early hours of June 10 at a breath-testing checkpoint. Vaughn, 48, was taken into police custody at 4 AM, where he and his male passenger remained until posting bail at 7 AM, according to TMZ.

While a spokesperson for Vaughn did not respond to a request for comment, police told CNN that the actor wasn’t “fighting with officers, but more … delaying the investigation”.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department had said it maintained a “zero tolerance” approach to drink driving. “The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers,” the department posted on Facebook on June 6. At press time no charges had been laid against the actor. •
