SARA CRAMPTON MODERN MUSE ON MINIMALISM

Sara’s beauty look always starts with flawless skin and hair, so she requires minimal products to achieve this. “Sara’s style has a fresh, ‘I just washed my hair look,’ which really suits her overall style. She looks youthful and healthy and her hair has that lush vibe we all strive for,” says May. There’s only one way to mimic Sara’s flawless finish and that is with great healthy hair, prior hair prep and nourishment.

KATE WATERHOUSE LUSH TEXTURE WITH A ’70S TWIST

“This is my favourite texture and shape when it comes to this length of hair,” says May, who notes the texture in the ends has a nod to the 1970s, which is bang on trend right now. Kate’s curtain-shaped fringe finishes this look beautifully, softening and framing her face.

TOP TIP

“The key to getting this volume and softness is using a weightless formula hairspray on each of the sections before you tong,” says May.

NADIA FAIRFAX THE PERFECT PIXIE PART

“I like the simplicity and functionality of this style, it’s clean, soft and modern,” says May, adding the reason it suits Nadia’s petite frame to a tee is “that it exudes delicate simplicity and shows off her romantic heart-shaped face.” Top tip: “My tip to achieve softness and hold is to blow-dry hair with a mousse.”

PHOEBE BURGESS LIVED-IN LOCKS WITH TEXTURE

“Phoebe’s length really frames the face and draws attention to the jawline,” says May who notes that the edgy texture keeps the style youthful.

GET THE LOOK

1. Rough-dry a control mousse into hair to build texture. 2. Apply a dry shampoo to the roots to maximise texture in the hair before you tong, creating volume and definition in the finished look. 3. To achieve a ‘lived-in’ texture, pick up random pieces and tong.

LINDY RAMA-ELLIS ELEGANT, YET EASY UP-DO

Working a short cut into different looks can be challenging, but Lindy’s style is always on-trend. “Sometimes an ‘up-do’ can be as simple and chic as a low pony. The way you make it work for your face is to play with the part,” says May. Lindy’s low-lying part is a little unexpected which May says is what keeps this style “simple, with a touch of elegance.” GET THE LOOK 1. Play around with your part until you find a position that you like and then secure the pony with a non-snag hair tie. 2. Use a firm hold hairspray to lock down hair, prevent flyaways and leave a delicate sheen.
