After more than three years of dating, the star and the television producer wed in a cosy backyard ceremony

The Hamptons has had its fair share of glamorous parties. But even by the standards of Long Island’s tiny South Fork, the Sept. 29 wedding of Gwyneth Paltrow, 46, and Brad Falchuk, 47, was something special. The Oscar winner and TV producer tied the knot on a sunny Saturday at Paltrow’s sprawling Amagansett home in front of friends who included Cameron Diaz, Steven Spielberg, and Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld. They were among 75 guests who “cheered and clapped” as the pair exchanged vows under a decorative arbour during the 45-minute ceremony, which was followed by an elegant farm-to-table dinner at two long wooden tables in tents decorated with candles and white-and-burgundy flowers.

“The whole wedding seemed very intimate and romantic,” says an insider. “The guests were all people who love them.”

The Goop CEO eloped with ex-husband Chris Martin in 2003 – they have two children, Apple, 14, and Moses, 12 – while Falchuk is divorced from producer Suzanne Bukinik, with whom he has two kids. Falchuk and Paltrow relished every step to the altar. In April, she celebrated with a star-studded engagement party in Los Angeles after returning from a bachelorette bash with girlfriends in Cabo, Mexico. “I’m excited about everything! I’ve never had a wedding,” she told WHO in January. “So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”

The day after the ceremony, Paltrow’s proud mum Blythe Danner summed up the evening as “the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen.”

The festivities commenced with a round of cocktails while a string quartet welcomed guests. A tent was set up in Paltrow’s backyard for the ultra-private wedding reception.

POSH & PRIVATE To protect her party from prying eyes, Paltrow rented out neighbouring homes and tented her backyard. Later, she posted a photo of her and Falchuk’s matching gold wedding bands on Instagram. The pair opted for simple gold rings to symbolise their love for each other. Robert Downey Jr with wife Susan (front) and Rob Lowe and wife Sheryl Berkoff headed home after the reception. THE PARTY Select celebs made the guest list, including close friends of both Paltrow and Falchuk. Steven Spielberg had the job of capturing the special day and filmed the whole affair with a handheld camera. There have been no reports on Paltrow’s dress, but her now husband was reported to have worn a grey suit. It was a small affair – much more modest than their black-tie engagement party held in March.
