The A-listers are loved-up – and a wedding isn’t far off
ORLANDO BLOOM AND KATY PERRY are back on – and not hiding their love this time. When the stars made their redcarpet debut at the Monte Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean in Monaco on Sept. 26, “they were inseparable,” says an onlooker. “They were enjoying the moment, laughing and touching one another. They never stopped holding hands and seemed very much a couple in love.” It’s been 10 months since Bloom, 41, and Perry, 33, sparked rumours of a reconciliation when they were spotted vacationing together in the Maldives, a getaway that came one year after the couple first hit pause on their relationship in early 2017. When they initially split, multiple sources revealed Bloom – who was previously married to model Miranda Kerr – wasn’t ready to settle down. But now a friend says the actor is planning a future with the singer: “He always said he would absolutely get married again, and it seems Katy could be it. They both seem very happy.” Since they began dating again, the couple have prioritised spending quality time with each other. When Perry kicked off the Asian leg of her Witness tour in March, Bloom was in the audience as she dedicated the love song “Into Me You See” to him. “This next song is about being so loved and so seen that you never, ever have felt this feeling before,” she said about “Bubba Doo,” seemingly her pet name for Bloom. In July, the singer – who is back as a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol – jetted to London for 24 hours to see Bloom perform in the West End play Killer Joe. “This has been an amazing year for the relationship,” says a source about the couple, who’ve holidayed in Prague, Rome and Greece. “It’s like they needed to split and get back together again to get to this point.” With their relationship stronger than ever, Bloom and Perry – who spoke out about suffering depression following her divorce from comedian Russell Brand in 2012 – may be ready to take the next step. “Orlando would never date anyone like this if he wasn’t very serious,” says the friend. “He doesn’t have a ring yet, but has been talking about the future. Everyone would be excited if they got engaged.”
