BETRAYAL AND ADDICTION

Eagle-eyed fans of Australia’s Next Top Model will realise they already know one of the Bride & Prejudice participants very well. Leggy Gold Coast hipster Izzy appeared on Cycle 7 of the cult Foxtel favourite in 2011, making it to the top six. So, given she knows just how challenging appearing on reality television can be, why on earth would she sign up for another show – especially one where her personal life is so exposed? “I don’t know,” she tells WHO, bursting into laughter. “Why am I like this?”

Truth be told, the 28-year-old says she “loved” her time on the FOX8 show, which is currently on indefinite hiatus. “It was insane, we went to Paris, it was wild,” she says. “It was way more challenging than I thought it would be, but I loved it. The first thing everyone asks is, ‘Were the girls bitchy’ but actually no. I still talk to Simone [Holtznagel]. I was talking to Maddie [Huett] just then. She was like, ‘Are you on TV again?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I am’. And she was like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ ”

Appearing on screen with boyfriend Simon, 27, Izzy says her second experience on television “couldn’t be more different”. “There’s some raw emotional sh*t that happens,” she says.

Izzy’s mum, Bobbi, believes Simon is a “narcissistic sociopath.” Simon admits to making a series of “poor decisions” early in their relationship. “He means [he] slept with a bunch of other girls,” Izzy clarifies. “The betrayal I felt was to the bone. I cut him out of my life. Simon had all these problems with alcohol. He was off the rails.” Simon, a barber, ended up in a car accident, which forced him to become sober and get his relationship with Izzy back on track, much to the dismay of her mum. “I just want to save my daughter,” Bobbi says. “I’ve got time to change Izzy’s mind.”

AUSTRALIA’S MEANEST MUM?

Melbourne mother Fatima hasn’t even officially appeared on television yet and already she’s one of the most talked about women in Australia. Thousands have taken to social media slamming her for offering her son Sayet’s girlfriend, Jess, $10,000 to leave him.

In a series of controversial promos, Fatima also calls the 21-year-old veterinary science student a “slut”, “whore” and “prostitute”.

“I honestly don’t know why she calls me a whore and a slut,” a baffled Jess tells WHO. “I think it’s just because of the stuff I [wore] when we went out.”

The young couple have been dating for just over a year and decided to apply for a spot on the show in a bid to mend tensions between Fatima and Jess.

“Jess saw the ad and she just applied for the show straight away,” Sayet recalls. “A few days later, Jess got a phone call.”

According to the 20-year-old car- dealership employee, his mum didn’t take the news about the show well.

“She didn’t really believe me when I told her we got a call from Channel Seven,” he explains. “We had to show her some emails to prove we were going on the show.” As for Jess, she says she didn’t speak to Fatima until the cameras were rolling.

“I never talked to her about going on the show, it was all Sayet telling her about it,” she says.

With tensions at boiling point before filming even began, no prizes for guessing how things are going to play out on screen.
