MARGARET The outspoken mother has had a tumultuous experience in the past and now her son reveals the truth about her health

Terry and Margaret Perkins are causing quite a stir on Bride & Prejudice mainly because their son Hank’s fiancée, Lily Wellsmore, appears to be far too much of a feminist to meet their conservative views of life.

Viewers have witnessed Hank’s parents labelling Lily a “controlling feminist vegetarian” and openly admitting they would prefer their son to marry a woman “who doesn’t speak back and does what she’s told”.

Despite all of their hang-ups, Lily was there beside Hank and his family when Margaret suffered a stroke in the past.

“We thought someone was breaking in,” says Lily, 23, who was visiting her fiancé’s family home.

“It was full-on,” Hank, 26, tells WHO. “I was back on my R&R period [from his mining job] and Lily and I were at Mum and Dad’s house and everyone had gone to sleep and we kept hearing this banging.”

“And so I jumped out of bed and was running around the house trying to figure out what the banging was, and I went into Mum’s room. She had fallen off the bed and tangled herself in her sheets, and she was having a stroke.”

“She was knocking, that was what she was doing to try and get our attention,” Lily says of the alarming scene.

“It was really scary, particularly for Hank and his dad… I tried to be there as much as I could while she was recovering.”

While it was daunting, Lily remained loyal to her partner and did her very best to support his family during their time of need. “Any other issues you put aside when you’re going through something like that,” she explained.

“Hank had to go straight back to the mines and so just to be able to go and see her on Hank’s behalf, I did that quite a bit.”
