‘We’ve copped it online!’

They’ve proved that age truly is just a number. Despite their 18-year age gap, Philippa and Ry still managed to walk down the aisle, and months later are very much in love. “Yes, we are still together. And things have never been better!” Ry tells WHO. “This experiment has changed our relationship in various ways. We have become more attentive to each other.”

And while their relationship has gone from strength to strength, it doesn’t mean they got through their hurdles without judgement from the public. “We now agree that no matter the judgement received, we will not be affected by it. We understand that if we are able to overcome the tough situations faced in the experiment, then we shall overcome anything life throws at us,” he continued.

His wife Philippa agrees, “Oh, the keyboard warriors!” she says. “Amazing what nasty things people you have never met may say about you – we have both copped it on social media. But I have mostly refrained from replying. Haters will be haters. The support and love we have received from kind people definitely outweighs the negatives. “

Given they’re in such a good place personally, will they consider having children together? “If kids happen they will happen a bit further down the track. At this stage we’ve got enough with Philippa’s beautiful children,” Ry says.

“I thoroughly enjoy stepfathering Philippa’s children.”
