PARLOUR X

Australian luxury fashion boutique founded in Paddington

-

Eva Galambos started her in-store and online luxury fashion boutique Parlour X in 2011. Her concept: “To bring an insider offering of unique designers, presented in a gallery-style space, to Paddington [Sydney], at a time where these brands were impossible to access unless you were overseas. My commercial experience of being a wholesale agent of 14 years provided me the insight to buy, build and bring these labels to Sydney.”

Galambos attends MBFWA every year on the lookout for new talent and key pieces for the boutique. “A buyer plays an influential role in the commercial development of a brand and has the influence to inform trends and prescribe what people will be wearing in a few month’s time,” Galambos says.

“When it comes to a new season, I’m always drawn to the strength of a collection or the signature of that given designer. At the

start of a buying trip to Milan or Paris, or this week, my home city – I always enter the season fresh and ready to feel inspired.”

The Parlour X boutique, or ‘The Church’, in Paddington is known as one of Australia’s key shopping destinations for the world’s most desired luxury collections, stocking a mixture of Australian labels including Christopher Esber, Maticevski and Ellery alongside international designer brands Chloé, Balenciaga, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Fendi, Pucci and Jacquemus.

“Even today, my favourite part of the business day is still when I get to interact with my clients and dress them,”

Galambos says.
