ARCHIE HEALS ROYAL RIFT
He’s less than a month old, but little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is already having an impact on the royal family. Not only is he the first bi-racial royal in line to the throne, but the joyful arrival of the newest bub might have been just what Meghan, Harry, William and Kate needed to rekindle their ‘fab four’ bond.
It was reported widely during the early stages of Meghan’s pregnancy that the royal brothers had fallen out, with sources revealing that Kate had to step in when Harry and William reached a point of not speaking.
A source told the UK’s Daily Express, “There is a very real fear that, if the two princes do not repair their relationship, then it may easily reach a point where it is too late.”
However, shortly after baby Archie’s arrival, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were launching a free mental-health crisis texting service called Shout.
On May 9, during a launch event at Kensington Palace, William encouraged public support for the program, which offers “instant support”.
“You can have a conversation anywhere and anytime – at school, at home, on the bus, anywhere.”
Kate added that the 24/7 texting service offers crucial support and “the opportunity to turn lives around”.
The initiative is the first project the royals have worked on together – and, given the timing of baby Archie’s arrival, it might be seen as a fresh start for all.
