BEAUTY TALK WITH SHELLEY CRAFT
The beloved television personality shares the secrets to her radiant beauty...
Congrats on your new role with Neutrogena ...
Thank you, I’m honoured – absolutely honoured. I remember using their orange cleansing bar when I was like 15. The fact I can just grab Neutrogena on the run, when I’m at the supermarket, is just fantastic.
Are you diligent with your skincare routine?
I’m diligent with cleansing and moisturiser, but I’m trying to find that little bit of extra time at the end of the day. It’s certainly easier than at the beginning of the day! But I think the shower sort of becomes a one-stop shop in the morning – it’s hair, teeth, face
– it’s the works! Do you ever feel pressure about your appearance on TV?
I’m going to be honest and say no. I’ve been on TV since I was 18 and I’ve always worked with really beautiful women. When I was on The Great Outdoors I worked with Jennifer Hawkins, Laura Csortan and Sophie Falkiner, so I’ve been surrounded by supermodels my whole life and if I had a complex I wouldn’t have lasted this long. [Laughs]
You’re beautiful too!
Well, yeah, but I’m no Miss Universe and they all are, and I am completely cool with that! Now working on The Block with these poor women who haven’t slept or showered in weeks, I’m always gonna look good. [Laughs] Your thoughts on Botox?
I think whatever makes you happy. If having that kind of flawless look, or feeling like you’re empowered or just feeling good, then I say whatever gives you that feeling, just go for it. I’m not saying I never will, I just never have.
Any plans for Christmas?
We’ve got The Block auctions in November and then it’s holidays from then on. We’re in the process of moving house ... Hopefully there will be lots of family time and a lot of not doing much. That is my plan for this Christmas … a whole lotta nothing! [Laughs]
