BACHELOR COUPLE LAURA BYRNE AND MATTY J WELCOMED DAUGHTER MARLIE-MAE ON JUNE 19

-

It’s been quite a time for you two! LAURA 2019 was the biggest, happiest, wildest year of our lives, filled with so much love (and very little sleep). Becoming parents has changed everything we feel so grateful that our little girl is such a smiley, healthy, happy little baby.

Laura, you’re busy looking after Marlie-Mae, running a business and even launching an awesome podcast. LAURA I’m incredibly lucky to have a partner who’s so hands-on and supportive. Matt knows when I’m under the pump or sleep deprived and steps in and takes the dad reins. I love being a mum, more than I ever knew possible. It is the best (and often the most challenging) part of every day. I also really love designing for ToniMay and being a business owner, podcaster and all-round hustler.

Wow, surely something has to give? LAURA Well, my house is a mess and all my house plants are on the verge of death!

How about you, Matty? Breakfast radio, fitness, a bub … how are you managing?

MATTY Being a dad and having your fingers in a few pies is definitely a juggling act. But the only reason I’m able to do what I do is because of Laura. Her workload is double mine but she’s still able to run rings around me. I’m extremely lucky to have someone who supports me as much as she does

absolutely no question who the MVP in this relationship is.

Who does Marlie-Mae take after? LAURA She is a mix of both of us, but she definitely gets her cheeky charm from Matt.

What’s been the biggest lesson about becoming parents?

LAURA People always say there is no love like the love a parent has for their kids, and now we both understand this. It’s all-encompassing.

You’re probably tired of being asked how the wedding plans are going, so … how are the wedding plans going? LAURA Ha ha! Having a baby really slowed down the whole wedding venue hunt. We’ve been stumbling around in the newborn fog, unable to make important decisions. We’re aiming for the end of next year, but that is as far as we have gotten with the planning.

Finally, how on earth could 2020 possibly top 2019 for you?

LAURA A wedding, baby number two … who knows?
