The model and presenter shares the beauty and simple joys of being a new mum
Congratulations on the birth of Tullulah. How are you feeling? Thank you so much! I’m still on cloud nine. I was really fortunate to have a beautiful birth experience and I have so much support from family and friends which has made my recovery and transition into motherhood a positive and happy time. The lack of sleep some nights is incredibly exhausting and challenging at times but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
Has it hit you yet that all of a sudden you are a mum?
I still can’t believe it sometimes. Being a mother is something I have dreamed of for such a long time so there are definitely moments where it feels surreal. I could stare at her all day long. What is your favourite thing so far about being a mum?
If I had to pick one thing, it would be the overwhelming sense of love I have for our little girl.
Have you been mindful with the products you’re using?
While you are breastfeeding you have to be careful with what you use on your skin, so I’ve just continued the same skincare regime I stuck to throughout my pregnancy. I just have to be a lot more efficient with my time these days so my routine has become very quick!
Are you hibernating at home or have you managed a few outings?
I have been resting at home and enjoying the newborn bubble. I have placed a lot of importance on my healing and taking care of myself since giving birth. I’m sure we will begin to venture out more as time goes on but at the moment with everything going on in the world it’s made it easy for us just to hang out at home.
What are you looking forward to most for your first Mother’s Day? I’m looking forward to Buddy, Tullulah and I spending Mother’s Day with my mum, who will be celebrating her first Mother’s Day as a grandmother.
