Looking cosy as she stepped out dressed down in a tie-dye tracksuit and no shoes, Kylie Jenner was almost unrecognisable as she headed out to visit her best friend Stassie Karanikolaou last week. Armed with a pack of salt and vinegar chips and bottle of JUST Water (pal Jaden Smith’s company), Jenner was all smiles as she showed off her makeup-free look while clambering into her Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
The 22-year-old’s fresh complexion was truly glowing, and was a welcome change to her usual highly polished look. Having lived in the spotlight since she was 10, the reality star-turned-cosmetics-billionaire is rarely seen looking anything less than ultra-glam. “The more makeup, the better,” she said in a Vogue magazine beauty tutorial, during which she outlined her 37-step daily beauty routine.
Jenner’s pared-back outing comes after weeks of the star urging her social media followers to follow social distancing guidelines. The Governor of California has issued orders that require people to “stay home unless they have to access essential businesses”. Going to visit friends is technically prohibited. Jenner has been staying home with her baby daddy, Travis Scott, and their 2-year-old daughter, Stormi.
Though the once-loved-up pair haven’t confirmed they’re back together after taking a break last year, news outlet TMZ reports that they officially reunited in February.
“[They] took a break last year because they both had so much going on. They couldn’t fully focus on what it took to make the relationship work,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“Things haven’t slowed down much, they’re better able to handle it. At the end of the day, the couple are happy to have their family back together.”
Their reunion has been just what the starlet needed during this isolating time. “Kylie really misses her sisters and her nieces and nephews, but it’s been nice having Travis around so much,” an insider told E! News. “They are co-parenting and in a groove. They love being a family together and watching Stormi, who constantly amazes them and makes them laugh. They love their little family life together.”
During their loved-up lockdown, the trio made an Easter weekend escape to Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs mansion where Kylie and Stormi hung out by the pool and decorated eggs. Meanwhile, the Lip Kit creator has been sharing updates of her travels with her social media followers while urging them to stay indoors to halt the spread of the virus. “Another daily reminder to take this social distancing serious and self-quarantine,” she shared in one post. Jenner also donated
$1.6 million to help medical professionals purchase protective gear and, through her company Kylie Cosmetics, helped produce 900kg of hand sanitiser for hospitals.
The realities of strict social distancing, says Jenner, are nothing new for her. “My pregnancy prepared me for this,” she quipped. I didn’t leave the house for months.” •
