Among the many gorgeous elements that Khloé Kardashian shared on social media about her intimate 36th pinkthemed birthday bash, one detail, in particular, stood out for eagle-eyed fans. She accessorised her sheer, gold Yousef Al-Jasmi mini-dress (and later her comfy black tracksuit) with a giant piece of bling on that finger, sparking rumours that her on-again-off-again beau Tristan Thompson had popped the question.
“Does that [ring] come with [sunglasses]?” commented family friend Jonathan Cheban. “Blinded by the light.”

rumours on Twitter, saying, “Wait ... what? lol. I just came online and even I’m confused lol ... wtf lol people just be talking.” But a source tells WHO’s sister publication, People magazine, that the two are “giving their relationship another try”.
For her intimate but over-thetop party – complete with a huge inflatable slide featuring her face, custom sweets and colourful decorations – Kardashian was joined by Thompson and their daughter True, 2, as well as sisters Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie
Jenner, mum Kris and brother Rob. “The guest list was SMALL but the decor was MAJOR!” the birthday girl posted about the June 27 soiree that saw her backyard transformed with a sea of pink balloons, candles and flowers.
Thompson didn’t post any photos with the woman of the hour at the bash, but he did post a picture of a lifelike pillow rendition of his ex. “Lawd gawd,” he approvingly wrote alongside the snapshot, adding in plenty of heart-eyed emojis.
Ahead of the birthday festivities, Thompson shared a more heartfelt message on Instagram. “I’m wise enough now to know, you came into my life to show me just what it means to be an incredible person,” Thompson captioned a photo of the former couple lying on a trampoline together with their giggling daughter. “I appreciate how I am able to learn from and grow because of you.” Thompson, 29, added, “I thank God for the beautiful and loving woman you are to everyone, especially our daughter True. You deserve the world Koko! True and I love you mama. Happy Birthday.”
“Khloé seems extremely happy”
The special occasion was one of many the exes have spent together in recent times, including July 4 celebrations. “Khloé is very happy that they have been able to celebrate so many special days together this year, including Easter, True’s birthday and Mother’s Day,” another source previously told People. “She and Tristan are great, and Khloé seems extremely happy.”
The pair come a long way since they called it quits in February 2019 after news broke that Tristan had hooked up with family friend Jordyn Woods. That scandal came after Thompson also allegedly cheated on the reality star in 2018 while she was pregnant with True. “When the Jordyn drama happened, Khloé and Tristan were not in a proper relationship,” the insider said at the time. “But this is what made her realise that Tristan would never change. It was heartbreaking for her.”
While fans have been warning Kardashian on social media to be wary (“Don’t fall for it Khloé,” wrote one) the reality star seems to be softening. “Tristan has shown more of an interest. He seems to want more than to co-parent with Khloé,” says the People source. “Khloé has moments when she is toying with the idea of getting back with Tristan.” A source has previously told E! News that Cleveland Cavaliers player Thompson has been “taking advantage of the unexpected time off to be with the family” amid the global coronavirus pandemic. Another source tells Entertainment
Tonight that the estranged parents have made the most of their isolation, saying, “This alone time has allowed them to reconnect without outside influences.”
Another source tells E! News that wedding talk is premature, but they are definitely on the right track. “Khloé seems very happy with where things are right now. He seems committed and has made changes.”
Having been burnt twice before, however, Kardashian is taking things slowly. “Khloé realises when Tristan goes back to playing basketball and on the road, everything will change,” adds the E! source. “She isn’t getting ahead of herself and she is just enjoying having him around right now and all of the family time they have had together with True.”
