THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB

Based on Ann M. Martin’s bestselling books and a 1990 TV series of the same name, The Baby-Sitters Club follows the adventures of a group of junior high school students as they kick off a babysitting business in Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Meet best friends Kristy (Sophie Grace), Mary Anne (Malia Baker), Claudia (Momona Tamada) and Stacey (Shay Rudolph) as the babysitters. It’s cute and winning and nicely cast. Alicia Silverstone plays Kristy’s single mum. The actress will marry a man that her onscreen daughter – president and founder of The Baby-Sitters Club – dislikes more than head lice. “I really appreciate that we have a strong female lead,” Silverstone says of Grace. “She’s feisty, and it’s about female empowerment. These kids are kind and evolved.”
