US comedian, actor and director, Carl Reiner, who created the classic sitcom, The Dick Van Dyke Show, passed away of natural causes on June 29, aged 98. Reiner directed George Burns in 1977’s Oh, God! and Steve Martin in The Jerk, Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid and The Man with Two Brains. 81. The Gambian-born British actor was one of the first black actors in the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960s. “Louis paved the way for many actors who followed: a lifelong activist and champion of anti-racism,” his agents said in a statement.
