$7 MILLION WEDDING
The Beckhams’ news
Break out the matching ‘His and Hers’ crowns – the Beckhams have a wedding to plan! David and Victoria’s son Brooklyn secretly popped the question to girlfriend Nicola Peltz last month, with the 21-year-old taking to Instagram on July 11 to reveal that he had asked the actress, 25, to be his wife. “Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes … I am the luckiest man in the world,” he shared. “I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby.”
Nicola also took to social media to share her excitement, showing off her stunning sparkler – rumoured to be worth $288,000 – in the process. “You’ve made me the luckiest girl in the world,” she gushed. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side.”
While the Beckham brood aren’t strangers to the finer things in life, neither is Nicola, so a no-expenses-spared affair is definitely on the cards. The couple are said to be planning to splurge more than $7 million on two sets of nuptials next year, one in the UK and one in the US. Harper Beckham, 9, will reportedly be “chief bridesmaid”, with Brooklyn’s brothers, Romeo, 17, and Cruz, 15, acting as his “ushers” for the occasion.
Luckily for David, 45, and Victoria, 46, Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson Peltz, 78, will most likely foot the bill. “David and Victoria will definitely want to contribute in some way,” a source told The Sun of the couple, who reportedly insisted Brooklyn get Nicole’s father’s approval before popping the question. “It’s too early to set a date, but they’re aiming for the end of next UK summer.”
It’s been a whirlwind six months since the lovebirds went public with their romance in January, having begun dating last October.
They recently returned to England from New York, where they had been living together, to celebrate their engagement.
“The MOST exciting news!! We could not be happier that [Brooklyn] and [Nicola] are getting married! Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness,” Victoria gushed.
According to insiders, the designer is a big fan of Nicola’s, crediting the actress with “calming down” her son. “After a few previous rocky relationships, they think Brooklyn has landed on his feet,” a source told The Mirror.
The budding photographer is following in his parents’ footsteps by marrying young. David and Victoria were 22 and 23 respectively when they announced their engagement in 1998, after a year-long courtship.
“Brooklyn has always looked up to his parents and grandparents, who have been married for a combined 70 years, and that’s what he wants,” a family friend told The Sun. “David and Victoria are thrilled. They feel he has finally met a girl who is not after him for fame or money.”
