WHO WROTE IT?

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand are royal correspondents and contributors who have routinely topped Meghan and Harry’s list to cover private and public events.

WHAT’S IT ABOUT?

While the Sussexes denied reports they sat for interviews, it’s rumoured they cooperated with the journos to get their side of the story out. “With unique access and written with the participation of those closest to the couple, Finding Freedom is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition,” reads the description. JUICIEST DETAILS:

The Daily Mail has alleged that there are concerns among those close to the royal family that an authorised biography will spark further discord, with the news outlet deeming it “a score-settling exercise”.

An insider also reportedly told UK’s The Sun that the palace is concerned Meghan and Harry may have thrown the royals under the bus in an attempt to appear sympathetic. “They are worried William especially will be portrayed in a bad light,” says the source. “The concern is it will somehow paint him as an unfeeling baddie against kind and philanthropic Harry and Meghan.”The outlet added that Kensington Palace had declined to comment on the book, as well as claiming it was being redrafted.

Scobie took to Twitter in response. “Any ‘insider’ claiming to know what’s in the book is simply throwing guesses out there,” he wrote. “Also, just to add, reports suggesting that the book is being ‘redrafted’ are categorically false.”
