THE PAIR HAVE REUNITED AND ARE PREPARING TO TAKE A MAJOR STEP TOGETHER

Having returned by private jet from her sister Kylie Jenner’s 23rd birthday getaway in Turks and Caicos, Khloé Kardashian looked chic and casual leaving the airport with her 2-year-old daughter, True, in tow on August 13. She also appeared to be comfortable with her on-off boyfriend Tristan Thompson, who was snapped casually putting his arm around her waist as she collected her luggage.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 36, and the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player, 29, have reportedly been back together since June. The pair had separated last year when news broke that he had hooked up with their family friend, Jordyn Woods. Thompson also allegedly cheated on Kardashian in 2018 while she was pregnant with their daughter.

A source tells Entertainment Tonight the reality star is aware that fans and friends will question her decision to give her ex another chance, saying, “Khloé has never listened to outside voices, she’s always stayed true to her heart.” Kardashian hinted at the sentiment in a recent Instagram story. “Not a secret, just none of your business,” read the cryptic post.

“Tristan has really shown Khloé that he has changed. He is an amazing dad and partner,” a source told People. “Khloé was always hoping that Tristan would come around. It’s been very important for her to keep her family together for True’s sake.”

In July, Kardashian spoke of her desire to forgive Thompson so they could successfully co-parent. “People don’t understand it, but I lead with love and we put our child first,” she explained to People. “If you have that mindset, everything else follows easily. We have a family together. Don’t make it more difficult by dragging your feet. This is going to be forever, so we want to make it the best that we can.”

Lockdown, it seems, has worked in their favour. “Tristan and I needed that time to heal and I needed time to go through my emotions. But now he’s literally one of my best friends,” Kardashian continued. “A lot of that has been because of quarantine. We spend a lot of time together with no distractions and seeing him as a dad and how helpful he is, I’m so grateful.”

When the NBA season starts up again, sources say their relationship will once again be tested. “They have been living in kind of a bubble and Khloé enjoys it,” says the People source. “Tristan’s travelling was always a concern. This is when he would mess up their relationship. She hopes that Tristan has changed though, so they can continue to be together as a family.” •

“They’re very much together and Khloé is beyond happy,” says a source.

BACK ON “Despite Khloé trying to keep their relationship more private, she’s very much with Tristan. And she’s incredibly happy,” says the People source, adding that they want “to start fresh”.

“Tristan has the best relationship with True,” says a source. “And he has been amazing to Khloé, too.”
