Harry, 57, and Tash, 32, from Victoria

As the show’s first ever father-daughter duo, IT manager Harry and social media manager Tash know there will likely be a few family arguments between them. But the pair are hoping their similarities and close bond will see them through the challenges that come with the show. “Dad and I are very similar in our nature,” Tash explains. “A lot of what you see with me, I get it from my dad.” And while they’re both determined to get the job done, Harry admits they want to enjoy the experience, too! “We’re here to have fun as well,” he shares.

Jimmy, 33, and Tam, 31, from Queensland

While plumber Jimmy is no stranger to a worksite, his bar manager wife Tam doesn’t know her screwdrivers from her spanners. But two things the pair have in spades is grit and determination. The couple work around the clock to make ends meet, and too often rarely see each other due to their different working schedules. For them though, it’s all worth it as they try to make a better life for their 4-year-old daughter Frankie. “We’re doing this for Frankie. We want to try and win to set our family up,” Jimmy says of their plans to get into the property market.

Sarah, 27, and George, 33, from New South Wales

These two self-confessed “Westies” are sure to bring a lot of laughter to The Block! Full of fun and smiles – and some handy renovation experience of their own – George and Sarah are just stoked to have been chosen to compete. “We’ve said it a million times, but this kind of thing doesn’t happen to people like us. It’s mad, bro,” George admits. While the electrician is quite

handy on the tools already, wife Sarah, a teacher, is hoping her time on the show – and her natural knack for design – might take her down a different career path. “Don’t get me wrong, I love my job ... It’s just not the dream,” she says. And after their time on The Block, the pair are hoping to embark on their “next great adventure” – parenthood!

Daniel, 35, and Jade, 34, from South Australia

After four attempts to get on The Block, carpenter-turned-farmer Daniel and his hairdresser wife Jade are ready for anything the show throws at them. In fact, they’re almost a little too confident. “I’ve watched The Block for years and always think, ‘What’s with all these whingers?’ Kick ’em off, put some real Aussies on,” Daniel jokes. The couple’s main reason for going on the show? Their youngest daughter Isla, 6, who is one of eight children in the world with a rare chromosome disorder. Anything they can win and put towards helping her is worth going through a hell of a renovation for.

Luke, 35, and Jasmin, 36, from Western Australia

With Luke’s carpentry experience and teacher Jasmin’s ability to keep the troops in line, these two look like a shoo-in to succeed on The Block. But it’s the last few years of juggling renovations with raising their two small children – Lola, 4, and Sonny, 1 – that’s helped to prepare them the most. “We moved into our house, I fell pregnant straight away, and then we renovated our big bathroom while I was in the early days of being pregnant with our second child,” Jasmin says. “It’s pretty much been baby, renovations, baby, toddler and renovations.”
