THEY’VE BEEN FRIENDS FOR 20 YEARS AND NOW GOOD TIMING COULD FINALLY PUSH THE PAIR INTO SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS

After Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper were spotted together on a beach in Malibu on August 5, sources were quick to shoot down speculation of a budding romance. “They’re friends,” an insider told Us Weekly. “And have been forever.” Now rumours are swirling the pair’s close friendship has morphed into something more serious. According to Life & Style magazine, the former Alias co-stars are spending more and more time together, with mum-of-three Garner, 48, hosting Cooper, 45, at her $19 million rental property – a six-bedroom mansion in Pacific Palisades, California.

“They’ve been there for each other through their own ups and downs,” a source reportedly tells the outlet. “They just had to get the timing right for anything romantic to happen. They’re a perfect match.”

Early in the northern summer, Cooper was quarantining with daughter Lea, 3, and his mother Gloria in New York City, where he relocated after splitting from Lea’s mum, model Irina Shayk, in 2019 after four years together. “I’m with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we haven’t left the house. My mother is going to be 80, and she has a colostomy bag, so I can’t let anybody in the house,” he told Interview magazine. “We live in a little townhouse, thankfully there’s a backyard. I’m running a one-man preschool.”

Since early August, however, Cooper has been bi-coastal, filming a Paul Thomas Anderson project in California. Between shooting scenes, he’s reconnected with

Garner – who is single after splitting with boyfriend John Miller after two years of dating. Miller “came into her life at a low point following her split from ex-husband Ben Affleck”, Us Weekly’s source said, adding, “Jen says John brought her back to life, [ but] it just wasn’t meant to be.”

A connection with Cooper, however, has long been on the cards. Honouring him at the American Cinematheque Awards in 2018, Garner noted she was one of the first people who met the future Oscar winner when he touched down in Hollywood. “I took him home and made him dinner … I’m still making him dinner,” she joked. “It turns out you weren’t just handsome all along. You were also a wonder, and you are welcome at my table anytime.”

Now that they’re both currently single, taking things to the next level is finally a possibility. “Bradley and Jen always respected boundaries, but now everything’s different,” says the Life & Style source. “They have a connection that neither can deny any longer and their relationship is just naturally moving forward.”

Cooper and Garner were spotted with his daughter at a Malibu beach on Aug. 5. Cooper and his ex Shayk remain on good terms, with the pair often seen enjoying family days together.
