THE ACTOR’S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS AUSSIE FLAME APPEARS TO BE GOING COLD AS HE RETURNS TO WORK

They’ve spent the past five months getting hot and heavy while enjoying an extended loved-up break in Byron Bay. But now that Zac Efron, 33, has returned to work to film his new thriller Gold, there are rumours his relationship with Aussie love Vanessa Valladares, 25, is already on the rocks.

“Zac and Vanessa looked like the real deal. They were besotted with each other,” a source told The Sun on November 27, confirming the couple had been looking to buy a new love nest together so the actor could make Australia his permanent home. “They’d started to look at a few places but, sadly, fate wasn’t on their side. Zac’s work and the enforced distance has really taken its toll.”

The Greatest Showman star headed to Adelaide to shoot the new film just days before the city was declared a COVID-19 hotspot and tighter border restrictions were put into place. And the changing lockdown situation has only made it harder for the pair to see each other.

“Friends hope they can reunite, but it seems their relationship was more like a holiday romance than they cared to admit,” the insider added.

Efron, who met Valladares while she was working at The Byron Bay General Store, has admitted how hard it is for him to meet someone. “Dating is something I’ll never be able to do,” he told The Sunday Times. “As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another I’ve impacted that person’s life and they’ll soon realise it.” •
