KALEY’S DIVORCE DRAMA
AS SHE GETS COSY WITH HER CO STAR, THE ACTRESS ENDS HER SECOND MARRIAGE
Celebrating their wedding anniversary on June 30, actress Kaley Cuoco and professional equestrian Karl Cook gushed over each other on Instagram. “I love you oh so much you have no idea,” wrote the Big Bang Theory actress, while her husband noted their three years together “felt like just a flash”, adding, “I love you so much and I can’t wait for a million more years!!” That may have been a stretch – just over two months later, it was all over.
“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realised that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” they wrote in a joint statement announcing their divorce on September 3. “There is no anger or animosity, quite the
contrary … We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another.”
A source told WHO’s sister publication People magazine the couple, who met in 2016 and bonded over their mutual love of horses, didn’t indicate that a break-up was on the horizon. “In the beginning of the summer, Kaley seemed very happy with Karl. They were affectionate and seemed great,” says the source. “The split seems very sudden. It’s pretty shocking.”
The 35-year-old actress officially filed for divorce the day they announced their split. The star, who is estimated to be worth a cool $135 million, has an “ironclad prenup in place”, a source told Us Weekly, even though her soon-to-be ex is the son of a billionaire software mogul. The day after her bombshell news dropped, Cuoco appeared to be in good spirits, as she was spotted strolling along the Hudson River in New York wrapped in the arms of actor and comedian Pete Davidson. The pair were filming reshoots of their upcoming romantic comedy Meet Cute, but even off-camera they have gotten incredibly close during the project.
Cuoco, previously married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016, has shared videos on her Instagram Stories of Davidson, 27, trying to study lines while she blasted music. “Annoying Peter, while he’s studying, has become my favourite pastime,” she wrote as Davidson told the camera “just trying to learn my lines” before breaking out into a laugh.
A week later, the duo took a day trip to a Six Flags amusement park, posting videos of themselves holding hands while enjoying the thrill-seeking rides. Davidson, a serial dater of actresses and singers (see breakout below), is once again single after recently splitting up with his girlfriend of five months, Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.
“It was wild while it lasted, and they both really care for each other,” a source told UK newspaper The Sun of the couple’s recent break-up. “But the distance has made it completely unworkable.”
The timing of both splits has raised eyebrows, stirring up romance rumours about cosy co-stars Cuoco and Davidson. “Loved every single human involved with this special little gem of a film,” Cuoco wrote on August 29, posting a photo from the Meet Cute set, including one where she is pulling Davidson in for a hug. One person to comment on the post was the actress’ close friend and former co-star on 8 Simple Rules, Amy Davidson. “Y’all look cute,” she commented along with the winking and blowing kiss emoji.
