FEARS FOR PRINCESS CHARLENE

THE ILL MUM IS SLAMMED BY HER HUSBAND’S FORMER MISTRESS WHILE SHE RECOVERS IN HOSPITAL

She’s been by herself in South Africa battling health issues for months. And just days after Princess Charlene shared images from the tense reunion in her native country with husband Prince Albert II, the Monaco royal found herself alone again and back in hospital. The former Olympic swimmer, 43, was taken by ambulance to a medical facility in the city of Durban on September 1 after she “collapsed”. It was reported that the princess was admitted under an alias, most likely to protect her privacy.

“Her medical team is currently evaluating her but have confirmed the princess is stable,” Charlene’s charitable foundation shared in a statement on September 5. The foundation also explained the fainting spell was “due to complications from the severe ear, nose and throat infection she contracted in May.”

Charlene has been convalescing in South Africa since May after she failed to return to her husband’s principality located on the French Riviera following what was meant to be a short trip promoting rhino conservation. She previously explained the infection started after a sinus lift and bone graft surgery, which she had in preparation for dental implants.

Rumours have been swirling about the state of Charlene’s marriage after Albert, 63, was hit with a paternity suit in

December alleging he had fathered a daughter – his third child outside his official relationship –while the pair were dating.

To quell gossip, the royal mum revealed that Albert had brought their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, 6, to visit her when she released a series of professional images of the reunion on Instagram on August 25. The awkward-looking snaps “failed to convince the Monegasques” that Charlene isn’t quietly going about setting up her postAlbert life and hunting for a permanent home near Johannesburg, reported French magazine Madame Figaro. “How long will Albert II of Monaco go on bearing this affront, which is becoming ridiculous?” the publication queried.

While there is no doubt that Charlene, who has mostly stayed in touch with her twins on FaceTime, was overjoyed to spend time with them, the trip appears to be fleeting. A canoe rental company shared snaps to social media of Albert and the kids using their kayaks in France on August 29.

Rubbing salt in the wound for Charlene, while she recovered from her latest medical emergency, the prince hit the town with his former mistress and their love child. Nicole Coste, 49, attended Monaco’s annual Red Cross charity gala, the Rose Ball, with their son, Alexandre GrimaldiCoste, on September 3. The glittering event was held just days after Albert threw his son an exclusive 18th birthday bash in his principality.

With Charlene out of the picture – at least temporarily – the air hostess-turnedfashion designer couldn’t help but take a stab at her former love rival, revealing she had been “alerted and shocked” by the princess’ behaviour towards her son after Charlene became engaged to Albert in 2010.

“For example, she changed my son’s room, taking advantage of his father’s absence to move him to the employee wing,” Coste alleged to Paris Match magazine. “As a mother, I cannot find words to describe these actions,” she added.
