AS HER EX SERVES CUSTODY PAPERS OVER THEIR KIDS, THE ACTRESS AND SINGER MOVE THEIR LOVE TO THE NEXT LEVEL
At one point during his sell-out headline performance at Coachella on April 15, an eagle-eyed fan captured the moment Harry Styles spotted his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, from the stage. After spying her amongst more than 100,000 fans, he smiled and said, “This is for you, babe,” before breaking into his track ‘Golden’. Wilde was also snapped by fans dancing in the crowd with pals like James Corden and singing along to her man’s hit song ‘Adore You’ in the VIP section.
“Olivia and Harry have an ease to their relationship, they love and support each other, but also let each other be free and work on their own,” a Us Weekly source has said about the duo’s strong connection. “Both of them respect the other’s work and never want to get in the way of each other.”
Less than two weeks later, Wilde, 38, leaned on Styles, 28, for support after being served with custody papers from her ex Jason Sudeikis over their kids Otis, 8, and Daisy, 5, while on stage presenting her film, Don’t Worry Darling, which she directed and Styles stars in.
“Olivia was confused when she was handed the envelope, and she was even more confused when she opened it,” a source told Page Six of Wilde, who was served during CinemaCon 2022 in Las Vegas. “It seemed unthinkable to her, and it took a moment to set in, but as mortifying as it was, she didn’t want to give a reaction … She was there to introduce a project that is near and dear to her heart, and for someone to try to take that moment from her – whether it be Jason, a process server or anyone else – was beyond inappropriate.”
Wilde and Sudeikis were together from
2011 until November 2020, and seemed to have a harmonious co-parenting relationship prior to this shock move. The exes split their time between Los Angeles, New York and London, where Styles lives and Sudeikis films his Apple TV Plus comedy Ted Lasso. A rep for Sudeikis claimed the star “had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered”, adding “he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner”.
According to a Hollywood Life insider, Styles has been by Wilde’s side since the fallout. “Honestly, Olivia thought that he wasn’t going to be able to deal with this at all,” said the source. “He has stepped up to the plate and then some.”
Despite their busy globe-trotting schedules, the pair have gone deep with their relationship. Those close to the couple are speculating that wedding bells aren’t too far off since Styles has reportedly been slowly getting to know Wilde’s children, while Wilde has been spending time with Styles’ family, including his beloved mother Anne Twist.
“Harry doesn’t have children of his own, but he sees how much love [Wilde] has for her kids, and he will do everything that he can to show her kids and her this same type of love,” continued the Hollywood Life source. “Harry has been a rock for her, and he has shown her what true love is again.”
Before her relationship with Sudeikis, Wilde was married to Italian-American filmmaker Tao Ruspoli, 46, from 2003 to 2011. Styles has had relatively short-lived relationships with high-profile women, including late TV presenter Caroline Flack, Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner and French model Camille Rowe. With Wilde, Styles – who once told interviewer Howard Stern he “definitely” sees marriage in his future – is committed to making it work.
“Harry is in this for the long haul,” says the Hollywood Life source. “He has shown her this over and over again.”
