‘WE NEED THEM BOTH’

THE ACTRESS WANTS HER HUBBY AND CHRIS ROCK TO KISS AND MAKE UP

In what was staged like a public address direct from the Church of Scientology’s Gold Base headquarters – complete with festive lighting and a mystical glow – Jada Pinkett Smith urged comedian Chris Rock and her husband Will Smith to “reconcile” after the latter slapped Rock on stage at the Oscars on March 28 for poking fun at Pinkett Smith’s “GI Jane” lack of hair.

Unbeknownst to Rock, the actress, 50, suffers from the hair-loss condition, alopecia. “Considering what I’ve been through and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories,” she began her piece to camera, during one of her Red Table Talk episodes this month. “I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.”

During the episode, she interviewed the mother of a 12-year-old girl, Rio Allred, who took her own life after being bullied for having the condition. “Now, about Oscar night,” she continued. “My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.” She even hinted that she’d like them to do it on her show. “The state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.”

Implying that it was now up to Rock, 57, to make the next move, she said: “Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

Now, we wonder if Rock was listening and whether he’d be willing to “talk it out” with Smith, 53, on camera, with the actress as mediator? Pinkett Smith might be wasting her breath. Last month Rock told UK newspaper The Telegraph not to expect him to “talk about the bulls--t” slap, confirming, “I’ll talk about it at some point … on Netflix.”

Pinkett Smith’s ratings loss is Netflix’s gain!
