HUAWEI WATCH GT 3

-

WHAT IS IT? A smartwatch and fitness tracker with 5ATM water resistance, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity.

THE VERDICT I was keen to upgrade from my original popular branded smartwatch and, since putting on the Huawei Watch GT 3, I haven’t looked back.

I found the edge-to-edge HD display of the GT 3 to have a pleasantly bright sun-defying AMOLED colour screen that is responsive to touch, and the battery lasts up to an amazingly long fortnight before needing to be charged wirelessly.

The stylish ultra-lightweight, stainlesssteel body paired with a fashionable leather strap looks elegant. I found the strap extremely comfortable, allowing my skin to breathe even after getting wet – a vast improvement from my old watch’s silicone strap that gave me a rash.

There are a variety of watch faces to choose from and even more through the Android/iOS compatible app, Huawei Health, which allowed me to customise my watch, check health, diet and stress guidance, and monitor sleep with ease.

The Bluetooth allows connected headphones to play music from 2GB of storage, and controls music apps and calls on paired phones.

If you want a snappy, durable smartwatch that looks like a beautiful dress accessory and not some rubber-looking fitness or military tech, then this is the Goldilocks of smartwatches.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 can be bought from around $429-$499 (46mm) and $369 -$429 (42mm) at various outlets including JB Hi-Fi, Amazon, Mobileciti, The Good Guys and Huawei Experience Store. Paul Nestor,
