BROADCHURCH

Colman joined the cast of the hit UK show in 2013, starring as Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller alongside David Tennant. “If I could do every job with David Tennant, I would die happy,” Colman said of her co-star in the police drama. The role won her a BAFTA and catapulted her onto the world stage.

FLEABAG

“I think I begged Phoebe [Waller-Bridge] to be in it,” Colman told Entertainment Weekly of the Emmy awardwinning series, in which she played a wickedly evil but hilarious godmother. “I always wanted to play the baddie and she’s written a really good one.”

THE FAVOURITE

The actress was transformed into Queen Anne, starring alongside Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, and has described it as “the most fun” lm she has ever worked on. “We all giggled a lot,” Colman recalled. As for the actual acting? “Kissing Rachel Weisz is really no hardship at all,” she joked.

THE CROWN

Colman was tasked with taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II during the third and fourth seasons of the hit Net ix show. “Because behind closed doors, we don’t know what she’s like,” the actress said of the Queen. “I had a little bit of play with that … the hardest part I’ve done is someone who’s real.”

THE LOST DAUGHTER

Colman plays a divorced, middle-aged literature professor named Leda on a solo vacation in Greece in this Net ix drama, which was written and directed by actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. “I hadn’t played a Leda before or seen a woman like her depicted so honestly on the screen, so that was intriguing,” Colman shared.
