The pompom trend is everywhere right now. This pretty wall art doesn’t have to be just for kids kids’ rooms!

YOU’LL NEED

Yarn in various colours and thicknesses Cylindrical object, such as a poster tube Ruler Scissors Pins Foam board Pencil Utility knife Hot glue gun Velcro dots

1 Wrap yarn around the cylindrical object until you are happy with the thickness (approximately 70 to 100 rotations, depending on yarn thickness). Slowly slide yarn off, keeping it in a ring shape. 2 Cut some of the same yarn approximately 10cm long, and tie the yarn ring in a double knot to hold together on one

side. Repeat on opposite side. 3 Using scissors, cut yarn directly between each tied end. You’ll now have two halves. 4 Cut another 10cm length of the same yarn and tie the two pompom halves together to make one large pompom. 5 Trim the pompom to shape. Repeat the process using different yarn colours. (We made a total of 24 pompoms for our display.) 6 Insert two pins in the dead centre of the foam board. Cut a length of yarn a bit longer than the radius of the circle. Tie one end around two pins and the other end to the pencil. 7 Gently pull yarn taut and draw a circle around the pins. Cut the circle out using a utility knife. 8 Glue pompoms onto the foam board using superglue or a hot glue gun. Fill the whole circle, being sure to alternate colours. Once dry, fluff pompoms and hang on the wall using Velcro dots.
