Nicole & Keith
He rushes across the world to be by her side
In a remarkable show of devotion, Keith Urban has demonstrated he’s willing to go to extraordinary lengths for his wife Nicole Kidman and their family.
Last week, the country singer, 49, revealed he flew 22 hours to be by Nicole’s side for an ultrasound in Sydney when she was pregnant with daughter Sunday in 2008, only to fly back to the US to rejoin his tour just five hours later.
“I think the flight landed at 9am, we went and had the ultrasound, went and had lunch, and then it was a 2pm departure back to the States,” Keith recalls. “So lunch, ultrasound and home and back on the road again.”
The romantic gesture was Keith’s way of showing his commitment to Nicole, 49, and their family dream – and it’s not the first time he’s proved himself a real-life Prince Charming.
Keith regularly gifts his wife jewellery, and she has told how he leaves her a handwritten love letter for every night they spend apart. He often invites her on stage when he’s performing, and he has also been known to make romantic song dedications to her during his live shows.
The couple – who have daughters Sunday, eight, and Faith, six, together – have a rule of never spending more than two weeks apart, with Keith often rushing to Nic’s side for red-carpet events, where he never shies away from their trademark loved-up displays of affection.
“Someone said one time, ‘If your marriage isn’t your priority, you’re not married,’ and I thought for me that’s so true,” says Keith. “So as long as I keep her as a priority, everything else sort of seems to work”.
No wonder nder Nicole is counting her blessings. ngs. “Keith and I always say that we are just so lucky to have eachh other,” she says. Oz
