Turia Countdown to her big day

Brave Turia can’t contain her excitement as she prepares to say ‘I do’ to her fiance

Turia Pitt looked every inch the picture-perfect bride as she posed in a wedding gown last week, leading many to believe her big day with fiance Michael Hoskin is just around the corner.

Fans excitedly told the 29-year-old – who glowed as she modelled the sheer ivory dress at a photoshoot – what a “stunning bride” she will make and urged her to hurry up and finally seal the deal with her man.

“Awesome, can’t wait to see you on your wedding day, Turia,” said one follower on Instagram. “Hurry up and be a beautiful bride,” said another.

Indeed, while Turia previously claimed that she and Michael, 32, have been “slack” with their plans to wed, her latest post suggests the loved-up couple could now be counting down to the day they’ll finally become husband and wife.

Many are speculating the outdoorsy pair will wed in their hometown of Mollymook, on the NSW South Coast, in a stunning beachside ceremony.

It’s not the first time they have revealed their readiness to settle down and start a family – with Turia recently saying she and Michael plan to try for kids, and adding they’ll make a “great team” as parents.

And Turia and Michael’s relationship is stronger than ever right now. Posting a heartwarming picture of her and Michael on Twitter earlier this month, Turia wrote, “Be the person you want to spend time with.”

The couple’s happy news will serve as a highlight of yet another hugely successful year.

Since Turia’s horrific accident in 2011 – which left her with burns to 65 per cent of her body after she was caught in a bushfire while competing in an ultramarathon – her condition has slowly but surely improved.

She’s competed in Ironman triathlons and raised over $1 million for Interplast, a charity that offers transformative surgery to those in need, as well as recently celebrating the release of her second book, Unmasked.

It’s been almost two years since Turia and Michael became engaged in the Maldives, after Michael made the touching decision to secretly buy a ring in the days following his girlfriend’s accident.

Writing in her blog in February, Turia described his grand gesture as something she’ll never forget. “I think about this moment a lot,” the athlete said. “Not just because I’m so bloody grateful to have a man like this in my life, but because I think it illustrates something we can all understand: Hope.”
