Karl Stefanovic was on top of the world last month after his romantic display with younger gi girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough hit he headlines around the country. The loved-up couple’s very pu public declaration of affection ca came as the 33-year-old model an and shoe designer picked up the 42 42-year old father of three from LA Airport in her silver SUV. Reports followed soon after th that Karl had discussed the idea o of marriage with Jasmine’s fa father during his time in the US. But it was a very different s scene at the same airport last w week. Instead, it was another m man accompanying Jasmine as she made the journey to LAX to board a flight bound for Sydney. Not only that, but Woman’s Day can exclusively reveal the pair spent time alone together at Jasmine’s Hollywood home.
Jasmine and Jack Bedwani, the CEO of international brand consultancy firm The Projects, were spotted looking happy and carefree on multiple occasions in the week before she left to return to Karl’s side in Australia.
In addition to 35-year-old Jack accompanying Jasmine to the airport last Monday night, he was also spotted leaving her house in the early hours of the morning just days before. The duo are apparently so close that Jasmine lent him her car – the same one she and Karl were famously pictured embracing in last month. He used it to run some personal errands after leaving her home, but then Jasmine and Jack have a long history. With mutual friends in the US and Australia, and a love of fashion, they often post pictures looking cosy on Instagram. The cool young bachelor’s flirtation with Jasmine must be driving Karl wild with envy.
These latest outings and private hang-outs at Jasmine’s place will no doubt come as a crushing blow to “daggy dad” Karl’s ego, given he’s said to be so head over heels in love he’s on an all-out campaign to win over her parents.
“Karl was desperate to prove to her family that he’s really serious about her,” a source close to the couple revealed to
Woman’s Day just weeks ago. “He made a point of taking her dad to one side and telling him he’s genuinely in love and this is in no way a rebound or a fling.”
Still, for many sceptics of the romance – which came soon after Karl’s sudden split from his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn – this humiliating twist may come as a form of just desserts.
Sydney radio star Jackie O went on the record last week to explain why she thinks women are angry with Karl in the wake of his split. “Do you really need an explanation for that?” she asked co-host Kyle Sandilands on their KIIS FM morning show. “They see a mother who stood by him for all those years… This is what a lot of women would think: This is a lovely lady that stood by him for years, they have a family and they see him leave her.
“Again, this is what they think: He’s just left her for some young 20-year-old and he’s cavorting around, kissing her, cuddling her, for everyone to see. What do his children think? This is what women think. They also believe ‘that could happen to me’. ”
