‘MY SON IS MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT’
Sh he’s’ enjoyedj d a stellarll career ffor more than 40 years, with hit songs, performances and even a stint on Dancing With The Stars! But for country music queen Melinda Schneider, one success is a clear favourite.
“My greatest achievement is my little boy Sullivan – he trumps everything,” she tells Woman’s Day. And while Melinda and her partner Mark Gable are both in the music industry – Mark is the lead singer of The Choirboys – they’re not pushing Sullivan, four, to follow in their footsteps.
“Of course we all love singing together in the car, but Sully loves dancing more than anything,” the proud mum says. “We’ll support what he wants to do, but at four it’s a bit early to know!”
Melinda herself is gearing up to hit the road again. She and actor Tom Burlinson (and a 20-piece orchestra) will tour Australia with Young At Heart, a show celebrating the hits of Frank Sinatra and Doris Day.
The showbiz veterans hope their performances – which will feature songs such as Que Sera Sera, New York New York, Come Fly With Me and, of course, Young At Heart – will be a trip down memory lane for audiences to cherish.
“We hope the audience join in – in fact we expect it to be one big singalong!”
