After four years together, they’re finally ready to go public with their romance
As the City of Love, Paris is the backdrop to romantic moments for millions of couples every single day – and it was the perfect location for Hollywood’s most secretive couple, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx to take a huge and exciting step forward in their relationship last week.
Although the two have been romantically linked since they were spotted at a charity event in August 2013, sightings of Jamie and Katie together are incredibly rare – so much so, that some fans have long doubted whether their rumoured relationship is even real.
But in incontrovertible proof that their romance is indeed going strong, Katie was spotted boarding a private jet to Paris, where Jamie is based while filming Robin Hood: Origins, a remake of the classic English tale.
And in news set to delight fans of the Hollywood heavyweights, sightings of the pair together are about to become more frequent, as sources reveal they’ve finally resolved to stop hiding their love.
In fact, the loved-up Paris trip is just the beginning of Katie and Jamie’s public outings.
“She’s tired of playing this hiding game,” a source says of the actress. “They’re going to go out to dinner more often and plan to start going public. They’re talking about planning a summer trip together in Europe.”
Although Jamie was working for much of their four-day rendezvous in Paris, he and Katie were sure to enjoy plenty of romantic moments. In an unprecedented move, Katie even visited her man on set at the Cite du Cinemas studio complex.
“She didn’t really mix with the other actors and crew,” says a studio insider. “We were barely aware of her. There are always hundreds of people milling around, so it would have been pretty easy for her to keep a low profile.”
Katie and Jamie, 49, have previously gone to extraordinary lengths to keep their romance under wraps. Since what started as a flirty fling grew into something more, they’ve been spotted together on only a handful of occasions.
It’s thought that, until now, 38-year-old Katie had been desperate to keep their relationship a secret due to an alleged contract she signed following her split from actor Tom Cruise, 54, in 2012. It’s believed the contract stated that the actress would not publicly step out with another man for five years, in exchange for full custody of the couple’s now 11-year-old daughter, Suri.
Notoriously private Jamie was reportedly only too happy to adhere to the terms. “I like to stay quiet with anyone that I’m dating,” he has said in the past.
“She was super worried about the attention,” the source adds of Katie. But with the rumoured contract coming to a close in June, Katie is finally free. And her decision to enjoy a loved-up weekend with Jamie, just weeks out from celebrating five years since her painful divorce, is a sure sign she’s well and truly ready to move on with her life.
It’s easy to understand why Katie would be thrilled to finally go public with the love of her life – years of hiding their relationship have not been easy.

no one spotted them. “They’d close the whole restaurant down or book a private room,” a friend says. And they did everything they could to avoid being captured together by photographers. “They travelled in cars with tinted windows and took back elevators. They had it down to a science.”
All the couple’s previous holidays have been equally carefully plotted. When they celebrated Katie’s December 18 birthday with a two-day trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico last year, the couple arrived via private jet and were shuttled in a limo to the seaside resort of Las Ventanas al Paraiso.
“They stayed in one of the most private suites, separate from other guests,” says an insider, who adds that their villa could only be accessed by a secluded path and they avoided eating out. “They had everything delivered to their room. They wanted to be very discreet,” another source tells.
Thankfully, insiders say Katie and Jamie were still able to enjoy each other’s company in the presence of very close friends.
Jamie often hosted parties at his compound in the Santa Monica mountains, to which Katie would “bring friends who are aware of the relationship”, a friend says. At these events, Jamie often referred to Katie as “my girl”. Their daughters – he’s dad to Corinne, 23, and Annalise, eight – have also already bonded.
“Suri is close with Annalise,” the source says.
Now, with Katie finally free to begin the next exciting stage of her life, the madly-in-love couple are thrilled they can finally step out together and celebrate their romance.
“Katie loves that he makes her laugh,” a friend says. “They also love listening to music. They dance and just talk for hours.”
“She gushes about how amazing he is and how much joy he brings to the world,” another source says of Katie. “She says she loves him from the tips of her toes to the top of her head.”
