An emotional stop on the tour brings the duchess to tears

hen Kate and William toured thee former Stutthof camp in Gdansk,, Poland – a Nazi concentrat­ion camp where more than 65,000 people perished during World War II – the Duchessss of Cambridge couldn’t hold back her tears.rs.

The mum-of-two wept as she and William toured the terrifying gas chamber,r, were shown discarded personal belongings from those who died and listened to Holocaust survivors tell of the horrors that took place.

Describing what they heard and saw as “shattering”, Kate and Williamlia­m later wrote in the guest book that they were “intensely moved by our visit”.

It was an unusual display of public emotion from the duchess, but it may not surprise royal watchers that she’s particular­ly emotional, given the 20-year anniversar­yy of William’s mother Princess Diana’s death in August 1997 is fast approachin­g.
