THE STORY SO FAR

-

Missed out on the first four seasons of A Place to Call Home? Here’s a quick recap to catch you up on all that’s been happening at Ash Park so you’re all set for Season Five.

SEASON 1 The first season centred on Sarah Adams, a woman with a mysterious past who returns home to Australia after living in Europe for 20 years. We were also introduced to the Blighs, a wealthy pastoralist family with skeletons in the closet – one of which Sarah unwittingly discovers.

SEASON 2 Following their engagement, Anna and Gino’s relationship was at risk with the arrival of Andrew Swanson, a self-entitled playboy who takes a shine to Anna. Olivia returned to Ash Park for Sarah and George’s engagement party, and James’ sexuality was revealed after he was rescued from hospital. Regina informed Sarah her husband René was still alive, and she travelled to Paris to find him. Elizabeth left Ash Park, and the season closed with George suffering a gunshot wound.

SEASON 3 Sarah discovered she is pregnant with George’s baby, and felt torn between him and René. George returned from hospital and decided to pursue a career in politics. Elizabeth attempted to settle into life in Sydney, and Sarah travelled to the city to seek an abortion, then later changed her mind. René died suddenly, following brain surgery, and Sarah returned to Inverness in time to see George wed Regina in a marriage of convenience.

SEASON 4 Sarah realised Regina laced a drink with poison that killed a local teacher. Regina became addicted to morphine and attempted to smother Elizabeth. Elizabeth married Douglas, Gino sold the family farm and left Anna for Rose, and Regina was committed to an asylum for psychosis as her crimes came to light. Sarah gave birth to a baby boy and reunited with George, but will their newfound joy last, or is the bubble destined to burst?
